Medical Weight Loss

Our medical weight loss program is grounded in science, backed by data, and led by physicians certified in obesity medicine. Every service we offer is rooted in evidence-based practices supported by clinical research and proven outcomes.

At Inclusa Health & Wellness, we understand that weight loss is not about willpower and discipline. Effective weight loss focuses on biology, lifestyle, and finding the right plan for your body. And our approach reflects that.

We build customized weight loss plans that are realistic, effective, and designed to work with your daily life, not against it. These plans focus on progress that is achievable, healthy, and long-term because they are tailored specifically for your body, health status, and lifestyle.

Initial Evaluation to Understand You

At Inclusa Health & Wellness, we believe weight loss is not a simplified or linear process, and neither are the people we serve. That is why we do not place you into a rigid program. Instead, we take the time to understand the most important factor in your success: you.

Your initial evaluation is more than just a weigh-in. It is a deep dive into your metabolism, body composition, medical history, physical abilities, lifestyle, habits, and goals. This helps us build a plan that is not only effective but also sustainable and supportive of your overall health.

Resting Metabolic Rate Testing

One of the first tools we use is resting metabolic rate (RMR) testing, which measures the number of calories your body burns at rest. This number gives us critical insight into how your body uses energy.

This data helps us build tailored nutritional and activity recommendations that align with your metabolism. Rather than guessing or using generic calorie calculators, we use RMR data to fine-tune your plan for optimal fat loss and better energy.

Body Composition Analysis

We also perform a body composition analysis using advanced scanning tools like the SECA mBCA (medical Body Composition Analyzer).

Body scan analysis is a scientifically backed method used to assess your body composition. It provides detailed insight into fat mass, muscle mass, fluid content, and other key indicators of your metabolic health.

The data collected during this analysis helps our team monitor your progress and make targeted adjustments to your plan over time.

In-Depth Consultation

These assessments are then paired with an in-depth one-on-one consultation with our obesity medicine experts to explore the broader context of your health. We take the time to learn:

  • How you eat and move
  • The barriers you face
  • What goals do you want to reach

We also consider medical concerns or limitations, such as joint pain, chronic illness, or reduced mobility, to ensure your plan works for your body.

Together, these tools help us build a data-informed, individualized strategy that works for your body and your life. Based on this foundation, our clinical team develops a fully customized plan using a combination of evidence-based strategies and interventions. Every recommendation is tailored to your needs and grounded in science.

For remote patients, our team delivers the same thoughtful, personalized care through virtual consultations, remote monitoring, and secure support tools. When additional testing is needed, we help you find accessible local options.

Our Foundational Methodology: The Four Pillars of Obesity Medicine

At Inclusa Health & Wellness, our weight loss philosophy is rooted in clinical science, personal experience, and a deep respect for individual differences.

We do not rely on cookie-cutter weight loss programs. Instead, we follow a medically guided, multidisciplinary approach grounded in the four core pillars of obesity medicine:

  • Nutrition Therapy
  • Physical Activity
  • Behavioral Modification
  • Pharmacotherapy

These four pillars guide how we structure your care. From your first consultation to long-term support, we tailor your experience around your unique health profile, not a preset plan. Here is a detailed breakdown.

1. Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition plays an important role in how your body stores energy, builds strength, and regulates weight. However, just like every body is different, so is the approach to food that works best for every person.

At Inclusa Health & Wellness, we recognize that there is no single “right” way to eat to lose weight. That is why we do not hand out generic meal plans or prescribe restrictive diets. Instead, we explore how nutrition fits into your life, based on your metabolism, preferences, cultural background, medical needs, and relationship with food.

Some people want help building balanced meals, while others need support with emotional eating, inflammation, or insulin resistance. Many are simply looking for a more confident, sustainable way to nourish themselves. Whatever your goals or challenges, our team offers evidence-based support that is shaped around you.

Nutritional Counseling

Nutritional counseling involves developing healthy eating habits, reshaping behaviors, and making informed food choices that support long-term weight loss.

We offer dietitian-led nutritional counseling to help you develop a personalized framework for how and what you eat. Together, we explore strategies that support your metabolism, medical needs, and lifestyle without rigid rules or restrictive diet plans.

Cooking Classes

Knowing what to eat is one thing, knowing how to make it work in your kitchen is another. Our cooking classes give you the skills and confidence to turn your nutrition goals into everyday meals.

Led by experienced instructors, these hands-on sessions teach you how to prepare meals that are both nutritious and enjoyable. You will learn techniques to simplify cooking, incorporate nourishing ingredients, and create dishes that align with your preferences and busy schedule.

Health Coaching

Nutrition is more than just food. It is also about the patterns, stressors, and daily choices that shape how we eat. We offer access to health coaching through our partner, inHealth, to support the behavioral side of your journey.

Health coaching helps you identify habits that may be holding you back, build self-awareness, and create sustainable routines that fit your life. This compassionate support helps you stay flexible, accountable, and aligned with your long-term goals.

Our team understands that everyone’s relationship with food is shaped by many factors, including culture, upbringing, emotions, and lived experience. That is why we approach nutrition counseling with compassion, curiosity, and respect.

We focus on helping you fuel your body, honor your needs, and develop practical strategies that support long-term health and weight management.

2. Physical Activity

Physical movement and activity can play a powerful role in weight loss. It supports your energy, mood, muscle tone, metabolism, and long-term mobility.

However, the way movement fits into someone’s life depends on many factors, including physical ability, medical history, and day-to-day demands. At Inclusa Health & Wellness, we take a flexible, personalized approach to physical activity.

We understand that not everyone benefits from the same type or intensity of activities. While some people are looking to increase their strength or stamina, others may be working through pain, fatigue, or limited mobility.

Functional Movement Support

We offer support to help you find what feels approachable and aligned with your goals.

Our on-site physical therapist offers evaluations to help you understand what types of movement are safe, supportive, and appropriate for your body. Whether you are easing back into movement after a surgery, managing chronic pain, or just looking for a more joyful way to stay active, this evaluation helps tailor a plan that fits your capabilities and comfort level.

The goal is not to push you past your limits. It is to help you stay active in a sustainable way.

InclusaFit

InclusaFit offers a welcoming fitness space built to make movement accessible, enjoyable, and judgment-free. With 16 weekly classes offered both virtually and in person, you can find an activity that works for your body and your schedule.

From yoga and pilates to dancing and strength training, we provide various types of activities to accommodate different needs, abilities, and energy levels.

Coaching for Active Living

We provide one-on-one health coaching through inHealth to help you build realistic, sustainable movement habits. Expert health coaches work with you to identify obstacles and create an action plan that includes small, doable steps in your daily life.

3. Behavioral Modification

Healthy change is about more than what you eat or how you move, it is also about how you think, react, and adapt over time. Behavioral modification is the process of understanding the habits, triggers, and mindset patterns that shape your daily choices.

It is not as simple as relying on willpower alone. Behavioral modification helps build self-awareness and develop new ways to approach challenges that affect your weight and health.

At Inclusa Health & Wellness, we recognize that this work can be the most personal and also the most powerful. Whether you are navigating emotional eating, struggling with consistency, or feeling stuck in a cycle of starts and stops, we offer support that goes beyond the surface.

Health Coaching for Sustainable Habits

Our virtual health coaching, offered through inHealth, pairs you with a certified coach who helps you explore the deeper “why” behind your habits and behaviors. Together, you build strategies to overcome barriers, set meaningful goals, and create routines that align with your life and weight loss plan.

These sessions offer more than accountability. They are a space to reflect, solve problems, and stay connected to your motivation over time.

Mindfulness & Emotional Support

Since emotional well-being plays an important role in behavior change, we also offer sessions designed to help you build resilience from within. This includes mindfulness-based work with our yoga and massage therapists, as well as mental health support.

Even small mindset shifts can lead to big changes, and we help you navigate that growth with compassion and clarity.

4. Pharmacotherapy

For some people, weight loss involves more than lifestyle changes alone. When appropriate, medical treatment with prescription medications can provide added support for weight loss.

Weight Loss Medications

Prescription weight loss medications can help reduce appetite, increase feelings of fullness, or slow down digestion to help regulate calorie intake. Each prescription is based on a comprehensive medical evaluation and chosen to safely support your weight loss plan.

Our board-certified physicians prescribe FDA-approved weight loss medications to provide additional support that helps enhance your weight loss results.

While not everyone needs or benefits from medication, having it as an option can be empowering when other strategies are not enough on their own. We also help manage related medical conditions that intersect with weight, such as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Bariatric Surgery Support

For patients considering bariatric surgery, we offer clinical guidance and compassionate support before and after the procedure. Surgery may be appropriate when other interventions have not produced sufficient results, and we are here to help you evaluate this option with clarity and care.

Our team works with you throughout the process, helping you prepare, understand what to expect, and maintain your progress in the long term.

Our Approach to Weight Loss Planning

Once we understand your health history, lifestyle, and goals, we work with you to determine which areas of support are most relevant to your needs. Not every service we offer will apply to every person, and even when the same type of care is used, it can look very different depending on your situation.

While some people benefit from targeted support with emotional eating, others may need help managing joint pain before they can comfortably move more. For one person, medication may be essential; for another, small behavior shifts and nutrition guidance make the biggest impact.

Our job is to identify the right combination and the right intensity for you.

The four key areas we draw from are all connected. They are not boxes to check off or steps to complete in a sequence. Instead, we look at how these different aspects of care can work together in a way that fits your life, your body, and your goals.

This integrated, responsive approach ensures that your care evolves alongside your progress. As your needs shift, we adapt.

Remote Patient Monitoring

We provide remote patient monitoring as a means for you to stay connected to our care team without the need for constant clinic visits.

Our remote patient monitoring system from Allurion allows you to track and share real-time progress through easy-to-use at-home devices that track your weight, BMI, and other health markers. This data syncs automatically to a secure mobile app, where you can view your progress and communicate directly with our care team.

Our nurse checks your data daily, looking for trends and significant changes. We will reach out if adjustments or support are needed.

Once a month, our nurse connects with you for a focused 20-minute discussion. During this session, you will review your data trends, discuss any concerns, and receive personalized advice. Depending on your needs, we may suggest connecting with a health coach, trying a new InclusaFit class, or adjusting another part of your care.

You can also message us anytime through the app to ask questions, share updates, or request support between visits.
